Obituary

Steven Scott Halter, 53, died unexpectedly on August 24, 2019. Steve was a resident of Temple, TX, where he lived for the past ten years. He was an employee for the Santa Fe Railroad.
Born on July 21, 1966, Steve was the youngest of five children. Steve is survived by his parents, Harold and Joyce Halter; his three children, Danielle, Jessica and Sean Halter; his sister, Leslie White; his brothers, Michael (Alicia), Donald (Paulette) and David (Debbie) Halter; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
Family was very important to Steve. He was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, great-uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many people. When you were around Steve, you knew you were in the presence of a truly generous and loving person. He loved to have fun and would be the first to jump at a chance to spend time with people he cared about. Steve was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He loved football and supported the Steelers no matter what.
Although Steve will be dearly missed, God gained an angel and Steve’s kind spirit will live in the hearts of those who knew him forever.
A celebration of Steve’s life will take place at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 4:00pm. Anyone who would like to honor Steve is welcome to come. A gathering will be held at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop immediately following the service.

Wow, where do I start? Steve and I went grade school together and graduated 8th grade together along with some other very close friends. Went to different High Schools but that didn't interfere with our friendship. Steve would always have your back in time of need. And always up for a good time. From watching football, to playing soccer to trips to Lake Havasu and many many other memories I will keep those close to my heart. You will always be remembered my friend and never ever forgotten. Until we meet again. R.I.P. cheers, I'll drink a few cold ones for you brother!

Steve was a great friend, always there if you needed help with a project. We watched many football games together, even though Steve was a Steelers fan and I was a Raider fan. I was one of the few people Steve had a hard time lifting with his massive Bear hugs he would give. I'm bummed that I hadn't seen Steve in a few years. Rest in peace big guy, I will miss you.
