During his early years after grade school Doug attended college to be a certified diesel mechanic. Doug had a passion for big trucks so much so that he started driving them at age 16. He has made his career in the trucking and transportation industry as a truck driver and transportation supervisor. Doug met Danna Hill a bit later in life. Both were raised with a very similar background so they just seemed to understand one another. Doug and Danna became best friends and he even taught her to drive trucks. The two would make their union binding on July 21, 1990 in Temple, Texas. From that point forward Doug and Danna would walk hand in hand together building a life with each other. Doug most recently had been working for Lone Star Grading in Salado. He loved his job and the friends he worked with. He loved his family and spending time with them. When not working though you were sure to find him sitting in his chair watching WWE Wrestling on television which he loved to do. Doug was a hard-working man. His work ethic and his love of an honest day’s work will be the legacy that he leaves for generations to come.
Doug is preceded in death by his parents Victor and Mary as well as one sister Lori Bartram.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Danna and his children, Jennifer Smith, Mandi Masters, George Dotson, Nathan Dotson, Carey Young and Sarah Rainey as well as his brothers Robert Donald Masters and James Masters. He also leaves 9 grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.
