CHRISTINA SUE BRYSON
June 25,1951 – August 14, 2019
“We might not be the ones to change the world. We might not belong to the few that put a ding in the universe. We might not be something the whole world would celebrate. But, in the little corners that we live; in the lives that we’ve played a part in, we should be nothing but unforgettable.” ― Nesta Jojoe Erskine, Unforgettable: Living a Life That Matters
Christina Sue Bryson, age 68, of Temple passed away quietly during the evening hours of Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at the Senior Care of Weston Inn nursing facility. Born in West Milton, Ohio on Monday, June 25, 1951, Christina was the only daughter and second child of John Henry and Freeda Jo (Neff) Bryson.
Christina grew up mostly in Fairborn, Ohio and graduated from Fairborn High School. She formally moved to Texas in 1979, and in 1982 made home base in Temple, Texas for herself and her three children, with other family members soon to follow. She was extremely crafty and creative in her younger years painting on canvas or ceramics, decorating cakes, and making macramé items. She also regularly volunteered to help organize events large and small: two of her favorite labors of love included organizing volunteers and entertainment for the MDA telethon held inside the Temple Mall one year, and another was planning a town parade for Heidenheimer back in the 1980’s. Christina worked for many years at MHMR in both Killeen and Temple, and then worked planning activities in a local nursing home for its residents before retiring. She loved her family and enjoyed collecting antiques. Several family members were able to visit with Christina in the days prior to her passing which she was extremely grateful for and shared with them that she lived a full life with very few regrets.
Christina was preceded in death by her father, John Henry Bryson.
Those left to cherish Christina’s memory are her nearby family members and support system: her mother, Freeda (Neff) Sprinkles and husband Charles of Humble, Texas; her two brothers, Michael Bryson of Humble, Texas, and Henry Bryson of Temple, Texas; her sister-in-law Deborah Bryson of Temple, Texas; her daughter Jamie (Muse) Wilkinson with husband Stephen of Kingwood, Texas; her son Christopher Michael Muse, Sr. with wife Gabriela of San Antonio, Texas; and her son Dante Bryson of Temple, Texas. Along with extended family and friends, Christina will also be missed by grandchildren Brittany, Christopher Michael, Jr., Sheridan with husband Kody, Bailey, Nathanael, Martin, Benjamin, Ethan, and great-grandchildren Charlie John, Kaitlin, Christopher Michael III, Mary, and Autumn, in addition to her nephew Daniel with wife Katy and daughter Faith.
Christina wished to be cremated without a funeral service. The family members who can attend will hold their own private memorial in her honor.
Hewett-Arney Funeral Home has been entrusted with making Christina’s final arrangements.
